Primary Programs

BABY BALLET

This program is for introducing the world of dance to the young aspiring ballerina. These students work towards coordination skills, musicality, poise and grace. We teach discipline in a classroom setting as well as working with other students. Baby Ballet students perform in a Christmas Recital as well as a Year End Recital.

Baby Ballet is a 30 min weekly class at $490.00 annually. For more details on pricing, please search our policies page.

Costume Fee: $65.00

Requirements: Students must be 3 years of age by June 1, 2019. Students must be potty trained.


TINY TOTS

This program is designed to introduce tap, jazz and ballet to the young aspiring dancer. These students focus on their development of coordination skills, musicality and ability to focus and take instruction. We teach discipline in a classroom setting as well as working with other students. Upon completion of the program, students have developed an enthusiasm towards dance with a strong foundation in three disciplines of dance. Tiny Tots perform in a Christmas Recital as well as a Year End Recital.

PRESCHOOL

This program allows students to study the fundamentals of tap, jazz, ballet and acro. Our preschool program promotes structure while developing gross and fine motor control, coordination skills, musicality, ability to focus and take instruction and team work. Upon completion of the program, students have developed a strong foundation of technique and appreciation in four disciplines of dance. Preschool students perform in a Christmas Recital as well as a Year End Recital.

Requirements: Students must be 5 years of age by March 1, 2020

NON COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

Offered to students 6 to 16 years of age (by March 1, 2020), this program gives dancers the opportunity to receive their dance training without the pressures and extensive time commitment of a competitive program. The non-competitive program encourages students to have fun as they learn about musicality, self-discipline, posture, grace and the sheer enjoyment of dance.

These dancers will continue to feel challenged and learn a wide range of dance steps while continuing to enhance their technique.  At the end of the dance season, students showcase their achievements in a routine performed at the Year End Recital with select groups also performing in a mid-season Christmas Recital.

Classes offered in Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Acro. Lesson fees are determined by how many hours a week the student dances; starting at $550.00 annually. An annual rate can be given once it is determined which classes the student is taking. Class lengths are as follows:

Aside from lesson fees, there is a costume fee required for every class a student is enrolled in (with the exception of Acro).
$85.00 per costume for students enrolled in 6-8 year programs
$95.00 per costume for students enrolled in 9+ year programs

PRE COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

Offered to students 6 to 8 years of age (by March 1, 2020), the Pre-Competitive program is designed for students with current dance experience who are looking to increase their time commitment and put their best foot forward on the path towards competitive dance. The program will have a stronger focus on increasing vocabulary, technique and presentation while preparing students for a future competitive environment.

Students in the program will showcase their achievements in a routine performed at the Year End Recital with select groups also performing in a mid-season Christmas Recital.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

  • Students are required to have a minimum of one year of completed training in each discipline of Ballet and Jazz.
  • Students in the program have a mandatory requirement of attending two Ballet classes and one Jazz class each week; Tap, Acro and Hip Hop are optional disciplines.

Lesson fees are determined by how many hours a week the student dances. The schedule of classes for the Pre-Competitive Program is customized for each student and an annual rate can be given once it is determined which classes the student is taking.

COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

The Competitive program is designed for students 7 to 17 years of age (by March 1, 2020) who are working towards perfecting dance technique in an accelerated learning environment. Intensive training and commitment is required in order to create poised and polished athletes who strive for a high standard of technical excellence.

Dance Discovery is committed to providing a learning environment for each student that allows them to progress to the best of their abilities; we take the time to assess each student and ensure their placement allows for individual and group success along with a positive dance experience in a competitive environment.

Class schedule and cost for the competitive program is dependent on which level a student is placed and can only be provided upon completion of the assessment.
